Wisconsin: July 2014.
From Tettegouche State Park, we skidded along the shore of Lake Superior and found our way into Wisconsin just east of Duluth. The town across the border is Superior, Wisconsin and we make camp for the night at a Walmart.

North Dakota: July 2014.
North Dakota is the first one of a few states that we are visiting for the first time with our Airstream. It is really exciting to be venturing into new territory for us which hasn’t happened for a couple of years.

Montana: June and July 2014.
We left the Works family as we headed north into Montana along Interstate 15 heading towards Butte. As we did some research, we found that there was yet another awesome ghost town near the town of Dillon that seemed like a must see. As we are suckers for ghost towns, we could not pass it up.

Idaho: June 2014.
On our way out of Oregon, we tried long and hard to figure out how we can make it out to Hell’s Canyon National Recreation Area in Idaho without adding a ton of miles to our travels. After a lot of research, we decided that it was not meant to be this time around. We found questionable cell reception at the campgrounds and the trip would likely have added several days to our visit. After all, we are not on vacation, this is our real day-to-day life and sacrifices are the norm.

Oregon: May and June 2014.
As we left John Day, Oregon, we headed west towards Bend, Oregon. Our plan is to spend a little time in Portland as I fly back to Santa Barbara for a couple of days of work. Between here and there, we have a few stops along the way.

After leaving Goose Lake State Park we headed north to the small town of John Day, Oregon. It’s a pretty small town with less than 1,500 residents but it is just the type of place we were hoping to find.
