Day 42: St. Patrick’s Day.
We all forgot that today was St. Patrick’s Day. I blame all of my friends on Facebook. No one had any green status updates in the morning! But in all fairness they were all still sleeping soundly while we were getting dressed for a mini travel day. Ummm, I did make a green blanket fort for Ava in the morning. That should could for something, right?

Day 40: Manatee. Catfish. Dog. In that order.

Day 38: Spring Break 2010.
We have fabulous timing. Not only are we in Florida during the most popular time of the year (Spring Break!), but we are also in the most popular Spring Break destination in the state. Lucky us. Because the park was booked for the weekend, we had to pack up after only one night at St. Andrews State Park.

Day 36: Four states in one day.
Today was a travel day. And not just any travel day. Today we are going to be in four different states. Louisiana –> Mississippi –> Alabama –> Florida.

Day 34: Thunderstorms in the bayou.
We knew rain was coming to the bayou and Dan and I embraced it. It seems like we have been on the go for far too many days. Spending our days traveling, sight-seeing and running errands. Spending our nights working and blogging. On top of tending to two kids. We needed the rain. We needed this break. Well, some of us more than others…

Day 32: Nothing going our way… until the beignet.
Today we hopped on the ferry and then hopped onto a Riverfront streetcar. Our streetcar driver told us to hop on and she would tell us where we needed to hop off in order to catch the St. Charles line. So we sat down and enjoyed the sites of the city. And man is this city proud of their Saints. Who dat? We dat!

Day 31:New Orleans City Park.
When we drove out of the Los Angeles area 31 days ago, we were glad to see that the rest of the country had smooth and beautiful roads. No need to worry about those darn potholes, bumping our heads on the roof of the van or having the Airstream bounce right off of the hitch… until we got to New Orleans. Oh man, the roads are crap here! I think the entire state may have crappy roads. And the turning lanes and layout of the roads suck. And I am not even the driver! So when Dan said he wanted to drive into the center of town instead of hopping onto the ferry today, he got a little more than one raised eyebrow from me.

Day 28: A ferry ride, a casino, and a 6 month old.

Day 26: Hello rain and good-bye friends.
Our view at Galveston Island State Park is awesome. Our Airstream is sitting at the edge of the bay and because the spots are staggered, we don’t see any other campers around. Just this view! I guess we are finally getting our money’s worth out of these panoramic windows next to our dinette. Mila thinks so too.
