Dear Mila,
TODAY YOU ARE FOUR YEARS OLD! Woohoo! And you have spent half of your birthdays in the Airstream 🙂
This year you requested a My Little Pony party. Ahem, excuse me, a PINK My Little Pony Party. And that is what you got. I hope I never forget the look in your eyes when you first woke up in the morning surrounded with pink balloons and ponies ponies ponies.
Your sister helped pick out all the presents, decorations and wrapping paper. She even made you a card with your favorite pony, Rarity, on it.
The one thing you begged for was an Equestria Girl Doll. Every time we boondocked at Walmart (which is A LOT), you would make sure we passed by the toy aisle to check these dolls out. It didn’t take you long to pick out your favorite. We were all surprised that you didn’t pick the pink one.
You also made sure that your sister would also get a doll. The love you have for your sister makes my heart hurt. She is your idol. Your world revolves around her. Truthfully, you were a bit disappointed that you were turning 4 instead of 6. Ava is 6 and you wanted to be her twin sister.
You didn’t request any gifts for your baby brother. Probably because he is content with looking at pictures of Dida on my phone.
We picked a city instead of a national park for your birthday so we would have lots of options for actitives. We thought long and hard and decided that a day at an indoor water park would make you the most happy.
You splashed around the kiddie area like a maniac with your sister and brother and sat on daddy’s lap in the wave pool.
I have a feeling that we made the right choice with this place.
Next on the list was to fill our bellies with some food. The birthday girl requested pizza so that is what she got!
After pizza, we walked around Coeur D’Alene a bit but had to make a pit stop. Your little brother had quiet the diaper and ended up naked in the streets thanks to the lack of spare clothes in my purse. You didn’t mind. You were probably just happy it wasn’t you.
Back at the campground, we took a walk to the lake before bedtime. You asked if you could dip your toes. And then you asked if you could roll up your pants.
Before we knew it, it was anything goes for the birthday girl and your crew.
WOOHOO!!
The best part of the trip to the lake was the color of the sky and water. Pink. Everywhere pink. Just as you requested. Sigh.
We ended the night with chocolate cake. For some reason we misplaced your candles, which is ridiculous since we live in 212 square feet, but it happened. And you didn’t care because matches for candles were super funny.
The one picture I forgot to take today was one of me and you. I can’t believe I almost forgot. So I jumped into bed with you and we snuggled and smiled our hearts out. Happy birthday, my silly goose. I hope today was the best day ever.
love,
mama
