Every time we are in Palm Springs, we have to go to Ace Hotel. Thanks to Marlene’s parents who spend a week each year at their Palm Springs timeshare, the girls have associated the city with swimming. Ace Hotel is the perfect place to go for that. Their pool is open to everyone, guest or not, with a small daily use fee.
Right next to the lobby and the pool is their onsite restaurant, King’s Highway. They make a really good burger and the kids also like their Mac ‘N Cheese.
If you opt to sit poolside for your meal, you get your food served in giant enamelware. Those Mac ‘N Cheese bowls are just a hair too big I think.
This is our little hipster in the making. Getting ready to do some lounging poolside.
The pool at Ace Hotel is heated so even during those cooler spring and fall afternoons, it is a great time to be here.
If Luka is anything like Ava and Mila, he is going to want to live here.
Our second amazing journey across America is winding down. Even though we are no where from being done with traveling, we will be back to San Pedro tomorrow evening to see Marlene’s family.
Shortly after that, we will settle back into a sticks and bricks home for awhile before heading out for another adventure.
Tonight will be our last night spent in a campground before we head back to Marlene’s parents’ house in LA tomorrow night. Even though there are many more journeys ahead of us, it’s hard to not feel sentimental as this one comes to an end.
over and out,
dan

Thanks for the wonderful journey and a well-done blog. I am sentimental also that it ends, only because it ends a brief moment your beautiful children’s childhood. There will be many more. Love and best wishes, Gayle
