Day 167: Another day in Cedar Key.

When we got here yesterday, we got our spot for just one night with the second night as an option and I think we are going to exercise that. Tomorrow, some Canadians are coming to stay for awhile. The rates are setup here that monthly stays are highly encouraged. We are paying $38 a night including taxes and Good Sam discount but the monthly rate is a mere $500.

Day 162: Sailing Tampa Bay.

One of the main reasons why we met up again with Kyle here in St. Petersburg has to do with what we are doing today. A few months ago, I found out that Kyle had taken sailing lessons at Charleston, South Carolina. Well before I was into Airstreaming, I was an avid sailor and had owned a handful of sailboats in my past. After chatting about boats for awhile, Kyle and I decided that since we are both spending our winters in Florida, we should get together and do a day charter.

Day 135: Back to our favorite key, Long Key.

Our 5 nights at Bahia Honda have come to an end. I want to say that I am sad to leave but the truth is, we are kind of looking forward to leaving. Yes the view is spectacular and we have heard from so many people who said that this is the best state park for camping in the keys and we are in one of their few waterfront sites. The fact that we have had to run the AC non-stop for 5 straight days has really been a bummer.

Day 133: Key West, Florida.

If we were planning on going to see Key West, then our best bet would be to go from the Bahia Honda campground since it is much closer than the other two state parks we also have reservations at over the next few weeks. It still feels a little weird to go to cities we already explored during our 2010 cross country trip so we are going to make a conscious effort on not repeating anything we saw last time around. Challenge… accepted!

Day 121: Our mini Airstream rally in Huguenot.

Last night we met up with an Airstreamer whom we have been friends with online for some time. Casey and his family live just a bit north of here in St. Simon Island, Georgia. We have been talking about meeting up when we made our way out here and he was able to make it out to Huguenot with us for a couple of nights as he pulled in after dark with his beautifully polished 34 foot Airstream Limited.
