Started off of day dry fitting the side cabinet panel.
And adding little ledges under the window cut outs.
Look. More staring at this cabinet. Lol.
Our mattresses for the van showed up today too. We ordered tri-fold mattresses off of Amazon. Amazingly they are the prefect for BOTH beds. Not sure how that happened. Totally not planned. Here are the adult ones and the kid ones we bought.
OK. Back to cutting some more wood.
Shelf pieces are in!
Now I can seal up the wood with Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish in Clear Matte.
The larger pieces dried in no time at all outside on this hot day.
I ended up doing three coats with some light sanding in between. The sanding I did left some streaks so I gave up sanding on the last coat.
Dan spent a good chunk of time using his new rivnut gun to install rivnuts and wall brackets that will also help support the kids bunk.
Alright. Looking much better. Tomorrow we will finish up this cabinet and work on the top bunk.
Here’s the video to go along with day 21 of the build. Enjoy!
As always, thanks for following along,
Marlene
