The kids don’t seem too impressed with our window. Haha. Come on, kids! So much blood, sweat and tears went to install that tiny thing.
Another day, another trip to Home Depot.
Luka still enjoying the window seat. Chit chatting the entire ride around town, commenting on everything he sees.
Alright, let’s do this as quickly as possible.
Today we bought some metal brackets to connect our solar panels together. Luka was very into helping Dan pick out the right pieces. The girls were very into shenanigans.
While driving back, Luka suggested we make a pit stop to say hello to the seals and sea lions at the Mammal Care Center. Good idea, little man.
All of these guys and gals are recovering from injury or were orphaned. All of the them will be released back into the ocean once they feel better or are big enough to be on their own.
We love this place and the work that they do. Saving animals for the win!
So here are the panels that we choose. Two 175 watt solar panels for the grand total of 350 watts.
Cutting brackets over a BBQ pit. Totally professional, right? Right.
Drilling holes and using a piece of wood to make sure he doesn’t damage the panel itself.
Yoda is here to help today.
And to munch on grass too.
Using a rivet gun to connect the panels to the metal brackets. Now our two panels are one!
We forgot to test the panels before drilling into it. Phew. Works fine.
We ended our day with a little live stream for our Patreon friends.
We gave a tour of what we’ve done so far and Luka showed everyone his new hiding spot.
Here’s the video to go along with the day 14 build. Enjoy!
As always, thanks for following along,
Marlene
