While our blog is still talking about our European trip, we have indeed been back home for a couple of months now. The trip to France and Croatia was amazing but at the same time, there are many days in Croatia that would bore you to tears if I chose to blog about them. So I will select a few memorable ones to share in some future posts. But for now, we are already planning another adventure.

After nearly 2 months in a foreign land without a car, we really missed being on the road. Although most people look at 7 weeks away from home as an eternity, it doesn’t even come close to the 200+ days we stayed in the Airstream in 2010. We are definitely still jonesing for a road trip and that’s exactly what we planned.

Can you tell the girls are excited about it?

Since even before we left for Europe, I parked the Mali Mish inside the newly built fence back in May and have not moved it since. That is probably the longest it has ever sat still and we pulled her out for a proper cleaning before we set out on a little tour of the southwest.

Our goal is to make it out to the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque for the first time. Stay tuned for our first stop: Pioneertown!

over and out,
dan

I was interested in knowing what size engine is in your tow vehicle…We have a 1984 Ford F150 with a 302 engine and wondered because we have yet to pull. Our Airstream is a 70 model International Overlander and I beleive it weighs around 4500. lbs…what do you think? Avoid uphill climbs?
Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, We have a V8 Duramax diesel in the Savana. It is more than enough to pull our 25 foot trailer. I think a F150 might not be enough for some of the steepest hills but it should work.
