We had been really looking forward to visiting Tennessee during this trip and now that we are so close, we are concerned about the devastation the floods have had on Nashville earlier this month. Our thoughts are with the people of Nashville and wish there was more we could do to help.
With that in mind, should we go there? Are there things we can do to help as a family traveling across the country? Our current schedule means we will be there by the end of this week but from some of the videos and photos we have seen, we just don’t even know where to start. We have read some accounts of campgrounds being destroyed and people’s RVs suffering major flood damage. Does anyone know if it is now safe to visit Nashville for a family with young kids? We would even be glad to lend a hand to help with the rebuilding of the city but are there things we can do given our circumstance?
With more rain in the forecast, we are also concerned about the possibility of flood re-occurrence during our visit. If any of our readers have any insight on what we should do, please let us know either in the comments below or send an Email to us directly at us@malimish.com.

This may be a little late, but being a Nashville resident, and an Airstream lover, it would be fantastic for you to head this way. Nashville truly is an amazing city and I am sure you could experience much of its southern musical hospitality, even though some of the commercial attractions are closed. We are finally back on our computers today after a few days without internet… and trying to catch up with the blog. We did end up going to Nashville and are super glad we did. We had a great time in the city but it would have been even better to have met up with you and get some insider info on what to do. Shoot! I guess there is always next time.
