Well, the time has finally come. We have been thinking about this for awhile but this is the first time we are blogging about it here. For the last 2 months since we have been full time traveling in our beloved 25 foot Airstream. As much fun as we are having seeing the country, we have always felt a bit of emptiness. Having such a large tow vehicle like the diesel van towing around a big travel trailer just didn’t let us into some of the more interesting campsites we wanted to see. Ultimately we decided that the rig is just gonna have to go to allow us to get closer to nature.

Airstream and the storm

This is what we found right here in Hollywood, Florida. We think it will be the perfect full time camper for the remainder of our trip and we got it for a steal! It even has a rooftop AC unit already installed so as it gets warmer on the way back towards California, we will be set. Her name is ‘Velika Mačka’ which, wouldn’t you know it, is also Croatian and it means ‘Big Cat’! Don’t you just love this little thing!?!? And imagine how much of our carbon foot print we just reduced!

With out further adieu, here is our new tow vehicle as well. A Mini Cooper S Clubman. I have always wanted one of these and now I finally got it. We had to give away and sell a good amount of our stuff but with Mila getting bigger, she is ready for it. Compared to the 12 MPG we were getting with the diesel van, we are expecting to have about double the fuel economy.

Well, what do you think? We will give you an update soon on how our new home boondocks at our next Walmart!

over and out,

Nice try, punks.

If it makes you feel any better, I was getting a little pissed off thinking you’d really be leaving the Airstream behind. I’ve already had three April Fool’s jokes attempted on me today so I’m already jaded.
