We woke up Sunday morning to the sound of rain falling on the aluminum skin of the Airstream. It is actually quite a comforting sound if you can believe it. LA had been getting the brunt of the storm and we got out of there just in time.
Ava woke up bright and early but could not play outside because of the rain so she decided to have a tea party with Woody, Jesse, Buzz and Bullseye. Oh yeah, and her baby duckling.
Being Super Bowl Sunday today we thought we would check out the Rec Room at Cactus Country RV Resort to see what kinds of activities we have going on in there. Ava had just gotten her Hello Kitty rain boots and she could not wait to use it with her matching Hello Kitty umbrella, her Hello Kitty socks and of course she insisted on wearing her… ahem, Hello Kitty underwear.
Turns out the people at Cactus Country are big football fans. I guess since every Class A and 5th Wheel monstrosity in the resort probably are sporting 50 inch flat screens in their own living rooms hooked up to satellites, the Rec Room is now a thing of the past in RV Resorts.
We didn’t let that stop us from having fun. Ava especially liked the little stage that was near the front of the room and did a little dance number for us.
Mila of course could not be out done had to do a little tap dancing in her big sister’s Hello Kitty rain boots.
Being stuck inside sure brings out the loony side of all of us. Marlene decided to play a little tag with Ava using Mila as a weapon. You might not be able to see it too well in this video below but each time she caught Ava running around the table, she let out the cutest giggles as Ava screams that we had not in the past been able to get on camera.
The rain did not last too long. By late afternoon, the skies began to clear and the sun came out just in time for a big rainbow to span across the sky right across the desert from us.
To salvage what we could out of a Sunday we decided to take a little stroll around the resort before sunset to see if Marlene can add some birds to her life list. If you haven’t taken a look, we posted a video of our walk.
We have been kind of lazy and staying in for the last couple days since we got here but look for some real Tucson sightseeing in the next few days!
over and out,
dan
(BTW, congratulations to the New Orleans Saints for winning their first ever Super Bowl. We can not wait until we get there to help them celebrate!)
