For those of you who are old enough to remember “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure”, this dinosaur below should look familiar.
We drive by this place quite often as we are frequent visitors to the area and pass through here each time we head east to Arizona. It is usually late in the evening or for one reason or another, we never have a chance to stop. This being the first time in awhile that we are driving by during the day as we are driving home from a 10 day trip in Lake Cahuilla, we had to stop here for a quick bite to eat and of course a long over due photo op.
We always have to look carefully into a crowded parking lot before we commit to making the turn. Being an extended van towing another 25 ft trailer, the last thing we want to do is get stuck having to back our way out. Lucky for us, there were 6 parking spaces in a row right under the Brontosaurus’ neck!
This area is known for its high winds and you will notice immediately by seeing the sea of wind turbines churning away in the distance.
Ava did not overlook the fact that it was REALLLYY WIIINDYYYY!!!!
“Mama, this dinosaur has little arms!”
“Dada, I think he needs to cut his nails.”
If you ever drive pass highway 10 near Cabazon, don’t forget to look to your north for these dinosaurs and Tell them Large Marge sent ya!
the end,
marlene
