Day 117: Tybee Island and Fort Pulaski.

Since we got lucky with a last minute reservations at Fort Wilderness in Disney World, our time in Savannah is unfortunately cut short to just 4 days. That might sound like a decent amount of time to be in a city, and it usually is, but we love Savannah so much that we originally planned on being here for at least a week. Well, what are you gonna do? You win some and you lose some. I doubt anyone will be sympathetic for us for having to leave Savannah because we have to go to Disney World.

Day 113: Meeting up with Marlene’s cousin in Charleston.

Today is the day after our first Airstream Thanksgiving and what did we do today? We decided against doing any shopping on Black Friday and chose to eat leftovers, of course, and to take it easy once again. The campsite we have here at James Island County Park is nice because we are parked next to a large grassy area that allows the kids to safely run around without worrying that they are too close to the street.

Day 111: James Island County Park in Charleston.

Our day started late as usual but with a knock at the door. Our buddy Kyle was taking off for the holiday weekend and wanted to say good-bye before he hit the road. It was probably a good idea to start the day a little earlier since we might run into some Thanksgiving traffic. We quickly got ready and crossed the street for some breakfast. Dan has been meaning to buy some clear coat touch up paint for our filiform corrosion issue, especially before we hit the east coast’s salty air, and lucky for us there was an auto parts store nearby.

Day 108: Asheville to Tryon, North Carolina.

We decided to stay an extra night here at Wilson’s Riverfront RV Park so we could spend another day in Asheville yesterday. Our intention during this trip is to stay longer at every place but it just hasn’t really worked out that way. On the flip side of it, we have been really blessed to have met and gotten to know a lot more people than we anticipated. If and when the social engagements start to dissipate, we will try to focus more of our time at the destinations.
