Guess what we have today?!?!?!
Tickets for the ferry!! WOOHOO!!! (in a bag because germs. lol)
There will be two ferries to transport campers from Morocco to France and we got on the first one.
Families got priority, if I remember correctly.
Police escorted us to the port in smaller groups.
We were ran through the giant x-ray machine again like we did when we first arrived last month and this time we got disinfected before boarding the ferry.
Temp checks.
Parked and ready to spend 3 days in a room. We pre-made all of our meals and loaded our devices with movies so we wouldn’t have to leave our room at all. For our safety and for the safety for others.
Only campers allowed. What a sight.
It is tough times for everyone but we all owe a huge debt of gratitude for Morocco in accommodating us in a time of need. And we owe France gratitude as well for sending over a ferry so we can isolate in our country of residence.
Room for four.
Don’t worry. Luka didn’t have to sleep in the window. We know how to make little spaces work for a family of five.
Good-bye, Africa! What an adventure. We will be back someday.
A couple times a day, we had to stand at our door and get our temps checked by the medical crew.
Didn’t take many photos during the ferry trip. I ended up getting really sea sick which was unusual but I’m sure the stress of this all didn’t help either and my body did what it had to do.
And we are now in France! Hope we remembered where we parked the van 😉
More temp checks and medical forms signed stating we didn’t have symptoms.
We were also given a paper that allowed us to drive through France on our way back to Croatia.
We usually avoid expensive toll roads but we only have 24 hours to leave France.
Dan made a video about the ferry ride and also more about the entire debacle of getting stuck in Morocco.
Thanks for following along,
Marlene
