The drive out of Dades Gorge was beautiful. I thought we saw all the breathtaking spots already in this area but nope. There was plenty more.
The rock formations reminded us of our home state of California and that always feels good.
Crazy colors in the mountains.
The white storks are nesting again.
The famous switchback portion of the road in Dades Gorge.
We didn’t encounter anyone on the sharp turns so there was plenty of room to make our wide turns.
Our next wild camping destination was a large lake just outside of Ouarzazate, the city called Morocco’s Little Hollywood.
I hate seeing this when we arrive at a new place.
So tried our best to clean up and fill a few trash bags of litter that we will take out with us when we leave. Much better now.
Kids also found a pile of random little melons which kept them occupied for a bit.
Egret footprints and droppings.
Remember when you where young and could drive halfway across a country on a road trip with your best friend? That’s exactly what @oklahomaexclusive did. What took us 4 weeks to drive only took these young ladies 2 days to drive. We met Noreen back in Sweden at a random wild camping spot and once again this winter in Croatia. I’m already looking forward to meeting up in another new country together for more campfires and memories. Safe travels, @oklahomaexclusive! Hope you catch the ferry back to Spain before the rumored close of the border.
Collecting all the random wood we could find. Friends are here so we will try our best to have a campfire tonight.
He’s on the search to find a geode. No luck so far.
Pretty moon reflections tonight.
A local messaged us while we were here. Wanted to let us know there was a parasite breakout last year at this lake form sandfly bites. Told us we’d be okay as long as we weren’t parked near the water. Ummmm. Shoot. Guess we are moving first thing in the AM.
The sky tonight was amazing.
And so was our campfire with our friends Noreen, Anna, Alex and Verena.
That’s all for today. We will share the shenanigans that happened to us in the morning at the lake in the next post.
Here is the VLOG that accompanies this post. Enjoy!
Thanks for following our family’s adventure around the world,
Marlene
