After a few nights wild camping in the Middle Atlas mountains, we had our sights set on some more wild camping but this time lakeside.
Today’s drive included a peek of a desert oasis.
Made it down a dirt road to our boondocking spot. Kids immediately got to work on collecting wood.
Supposed to be for a campfire but I guess these sticks can be multi-purpose.
This is not from a stick accident but from the dry air.
And here is our spot that we will call home for a few nights.
It so pretty here.
Putting our Dometic awning to good use.
Firewood collected for a friend’s birthday in a couple nights from now.
Drawing time.
Ok one last photo before I continue the blog.
Surfboard and boogies boards out and ready for the lake.
It was actually way too cold for them all so this didn’t last too long.
But the kids did last longer than Dan.
Put away until we find warmer water or sand dunes.
Remnants of a drunk guy trying to sell us honey. He said he drank all day with the 4L French race car drivers.
A shepherd walked his goats by our camp daily.
We are camping again with our friends that we met at the Middle Atlas mountains.
Finishing up their roadschool on the steps of the van. One in PJs. One in swim clothes. One is regular clothes.
Not our tire tracks.
The shepherd let us pick up a baby goat. It couldn’t or didn’t want to walk so he kept picking him up as the adults grazed.
It was soooo soft.
And then we celebrated our new friend Verena’s birthday with a potluck and campfire.
We also had a local Berber join us for the festivities. He shared his campfire made tea with us and he joined our dinner and conversation.
Here’s the video Dan put together of our time here.
Thanks for following along,
Marlene
