A 7-hour ride on the ferry got us to Crete just before midnight. We slept at the ferry dock so Luka could ride his new birthday scooter the next morning.
After a quick ride and some breakfast, we started our day with an adventure. Down a dirt road we go to the famous Balos Lagoon.
Parked in a large lot at the end of the road and we are off on a hike down to the lagoon.
WOW!
Not sure what’s more impressive. The color of the water or that there’s a smiling goat posing by himself at the overlook. Either way, us flip flop hikers are on the Greek island of Crete and damn is it beautiful here.
So beautiful.
Crossing the water way to get to the other beach. Luka hitched a ride.
So worth it.
Too much excitement lately. A nap sounds like a good idea.
Just a ways down the road, we find ourselves at a wild camping spot at Fallasarnas Beach in Kissmos, Crete.
Luka requested Orange Chicken for his special birthday dinner. A day late but that doesn’t matter. Mmmm.
The view out of our van’s door.
Playtime with their friend Bode.
And beer time for the adults.
I will insert Dan’s video of these stops when it’s done. My IG video got corrupted but there are few viewable clips in it.
Thanks for following along on our family’s adventures around the world,
Marlene
