After camping near a shipwreck, we made our way towards Kalamata for a couple reasons. One is to figure out if taking a ferry to the island of Crete is feasible by visiting a ticket office in Gythios and another is to meet up with our traveling friends.

We ended up camping in the marina in Kalamata. Not too shabby.

And look! It was so windy here, that the Saharan Desert sand from Africa ended up on our van. I’m not joking. Good thing we have water spigots near by to rinse the van off.

We even got a key to the restrooms and laundry room.

This year marks our fifth year of traveling together with the @bodes.well crew and it just happens that it’s our fifth country we’re exploring together as well. Kids are stoked. Adults are too. Sorry for airing your (clean) laundry, @bodes.well. ?

Narrow roads of the Peloponnese. Everyone goes slows and pulls over if needed. Not as big of a deal as it appears.

Wow, Oítlion, Greece.. This will do just fine for the night.

Wildflower season. Achoo.

Didn’t explore our surroundings today as we usually do. Dan was finishing up our taxes and it took our attention most of the day.

In the morning, finishing up our work before we keep moving along. Roadschool in their seats today.

All my driving photos are cuter now while following the little red VW bus.

Our next stop was Diros Beach. I think you can see why.

Looks like we have some visitors.

Home.

I packed a little mason jar especially for flowers we find on the road. It’s about time we busted it out.

It takes a little extra effort to lug delicate flowers on the road but it’s worth it.

Made our way back to Gythious to buy ferry tickets. The ferry to Crete only goes once a week at the moment and the next trip was tomorrow, which happens to be Luka’s birthday.

We had a family chat and he was okay with having a party on the ferry tomorrow.

Time to get ready for bed. We have a big day tomorrow.

Our family tradition is to take one last photo before someone’s birthday.

Here are a couple Instagram stories from these spots. Once Dan creates his vlog, I will insert it in here too. Enjoy!

Thanks for following along,
