Oh and secret sneak peeks on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patreon.com\/malimish\">Patreon<\/a> too. So here we go&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"41332170701\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/898\/41332170701_1b06d8c3b8_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Step 1: Make a list of all the things we think we need\/want to do and tape it to the inside of the Sprinter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"40618482244\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/821\/40618482244_63f9e5d90a_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve never done a build like this before and we don&#8217;t have a real workshop. But we do have motivation and ten years of living on the road under our belts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"40618482834\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/892\/40618482834_45679179a3_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We can do this. Right? RIGHT!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"40618482374\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/891\/40618482374_576e347974_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first item on our list is to remove the entire headliner. It&#8217;s not the best feeling to start ripping apart a brand new car but that&#8217;s what we signed ourselves up for so no turning back now.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"41289360502\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/796\/41289360502_5f2fce3dce_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As Dan started pulling the headliner off from the mid-section, we realized that we should probably start at one of the ends instead.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"41289359972\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/896\/41289359972_101e0571c9_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a few bolts to remove the visors, we used a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2JwaQtE\">plastic molding removing tool<\/a> to undo the headliner clips from the cab area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"27460038288\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/816\/27460038288_efe0b656b2_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then one by one, each piece was taken down&#8230; breaking a bunch of little clips along the way. Hope the plastic clips are cheap to replace but with Mercedes you never know.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"41289360552\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/871\/41289360552_5f2fce3dce_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now that the headliner is gone, Dan climbed up to the roof to pop out the covered pre-drilled holes in order to install our roof tracks. We opted to use ones made for our Sprinter from <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2uVAAfD\">VanTech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"41289360392\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/892\/41289360392_3c845dc90b_c.jpg\" alt=\"Sprinter Van Build: Day 1.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The face of a man creating holes in a brand new Mercedes. Hahahah.
