**Hi there! So I’ve been thinking. My new plan is to blog our current locations and sprinkle in the old international traveling we did throughout Mexico and Canada in 2016 since that never got done. So here we go….**<\/em><\/p>\n

We just got back from another stint in Baja which took us all the way down to the town of Loreto. We got to spend time with old friends, make new friends, eat cheap tacos, drink even cheaper beers and the kids got to do something they didn’t do last year…. touch gray whales. It was a trip to remember for sure and now that cant complain that the adult touched baby whales and they didn’t. Haha.<\/p>\n

We planned our return back to the US just in time for this little man of ours to celebrate his 5th birthday. He requested a day flying his new kite, bouncing around in an indoor trampoline gym and a new bike with actual pedals. And that is exactly what he got. After a quick stop in Santa Barbara for work, we pointed south for a pit stop in Joshua Tree National Park. The only campground with reliable cell signal there is Black Rock so we set up shop there for the work\/school day.<\/p>\n

In case you haven’t heard the news from our Instagram<\/a> or YouTube<\/a> feeds, we have new addition to our home. It’s a 2017 17 foot Casita Spirit Standard<\/a> trailer that we pull behind the Four Wheel Popup Truck Camper<\/a>. After 16 months of solely living in the truck camper, Dan needed more space to work, especially when the weather is crappy. So we now live in the Casita and the truck camper is Dan’s office, which can double has our weekend adventure mobile when we go camp deeper on weekends and want to ditch the trailer.<\/p>\n

Our Airstream is currently part of Caravan Output, an Airstream hotel in Ojai<\/a>, California. It will stay there until the hotel no longer needs it or until we are ready to have our “Mish” back.<\/p>\n

The new Casita feels luxurious to us after spending 16 months in the truck camper. The layout we chose does not have a bathroom and closet so in it’s place are bunk beds for the girls. Luka sleeps on the 2-person dinette and the adults sleep on the 4-person dinette. While living in the truck camper, we had to shuffle things from the camper to the cab constantly which gets old so when now it feels luxurious to us because now we can walk into the trailer and use it without shuffling crap. Woohoo.<\/p>\n

And we don’t post many photos of Yoda the 14-year old cat on our social media feeds but she is still her grumpy old self. We cut a hole under the bunks for her litter box and scratching pad so she (and we) are very happy to not have it in our immediate living area.<\/p>\n

Even when the kids have the whole desert to spread out in, they still choose to play super close to each other. I love it.<\/p>\n

We leave our bed always in bed mode but Luka’s bed gets transformed into table mode daily. It’s where\u00a0the kids eat breakfast and do their roadschool.<\/p>\n

That pretty much is an update of our current living situation. For the spring and summer, we are planning on sticking around the western US to boondock and explore old favorites and new ones.<\/p>\n
