It was a good thing we made a second trip into the city yesterday as today we woke up to rain. Actually, we have been hearing rain on the Airstream all night. We have been pretty lucky in the bad weather column of this trip in not seeing too much rain but it has finally caught up to us.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Rain means that we will not be going anywhere today. With the furnace running and hooked up to water and electric, we are actually quite happy to have a day like this. From the looks of it, we will be in our pajamas until tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

We usually have the gaucho seat converted back during the day just so we can have another place to sit besides at the dinette. Today it will probably stay in the bed form. The girls are allowed to watch TV in bed on rainy days.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Even Luka decided to join in on the shenanigans.<\/p>\n

Here at Bayou Segnette, the ground is pretty wet anyways as the elevation is low and there are already pools of water collecting in the shallows in between sites. Typically this means perfect breeding grounds for nasty mosquitoes and noseeums but unlike Florida, we are not dealing with too much of them.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Our neighbors across the way have been staying in their site in a tent. Apparently they were not anticipating the rain and had no idea that their tent was set in the low spot. Their entire site was soaked with water and even though it is still raining, they had no choice but to pack up and move across to another site with a higher position. I really felt bad for them as all of their belongings seem to be drenched. With no sun out today, it doesn’t look like anything is going to dry any time soon.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

At least they don’t have 3 kids in their tent driving them up the wall. Being cooped up all day means we have to bust out everything in our bag tricks. Toys, books, games, TV, you name it.<\/p>\n

Ava has enjoyed doing her schoolwork on Marlene’s computer. The problem here is that the 3G is\u00a0agonizingly\u00a0slow for some reason. I don’t remember it being this bad during our last stay here.<\/p>\n

Yeah Luka, your sisters are nuts. I guess that means you will be nuts, too.<\/p>\n

Sorry Yoda, it’s Mardi Gras, you may as well get into the spirit.<\/p>\n

The rain actually subsided enough around dinner time and we made our way out for another round of Vietnamese pho. On our way out, we stopped by the front desk and got some packages that had been sent to us from Marlene’s mom.<\/p>\n

The girls got surprise Valentine’s day presents from their nona. Ava got an awesome Minnie Mouse dress.<\/p>\n

And of course Mila needed to have an equally awesome Minnie Mouse getup to call her own. Thanks nona for the presents!<\/p>\n
