Today is our last full day in Savannah and there is one thing left on our must do list before we leave tomorrow morning. And that is to eat at my favorite restaurant in all of the land… Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room!!! Kyle has never been there (gasp!) so we told that he must join us or else.<\/p>\n

But there was one little problem. Everything has butter in it. Everything. So I left the girls with the men and waved good-bye… with tears in my eyes. I was hoping that Luka would be over his dairy allergy by this point of our trip but alas, it was not meant to be.<\/p>\n

The restaurant sits you with strangers and then the family style dinner begins with all the fixings. Adults are $18 and the kids only got charged $1 each! The last time I was there, every bite was amazing. We couldn’t believe it. And I hear that this time around did not disappoint either.<\/p>\n

Over here! Enjoying a delicious and diary-free meal at Soho South Cafe. Thanks for the recommendation Kristy<\/a>! Luka and I got seated at a 6 person table and he enjoyed some organic peas with oatmeal while I dined on a salmon BLT.<\/p>\n

We walked around town a bit to admire the squares and decided to visit a place that neither of us visited the last time we were in Savannah, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.<\/p>\n

The Cathedral was built in the early 1800s, burned down and rebuilt again in the late 1800s. I love visiting places like this. The history and the beauty makes it the perfect quick visit. Plus the kids only have to be super behaved for a few minutes.<\/p>\n

All the gold you see in the cathedral is actual gold. The hand-painted blue and gold ceilings were my personal favorite.<\/p>\n

Most everything in here was imported from Europe except for the pinkish Marble. That came from the mountains of Georgia, I believe. Or was it Tennessee?<\/p>\n

I remember admiring this building near Forsyth Park a couple years ago and the same thing happened to me once again. The bottom floor of this beautiful mansion is actually an antique store so we hopped in for a quick peek.

To our surprise, the antique store occupied the entire house. All four floors! The kind lady working there urged us to give ourselves a free “tour” of the house as we browse antiques.<\/p>\n

The interior of the house has seen better days but I loved seeing all the nooks and corners of it. They don’t let you see an entire house on those paid tours. This might be Savannah’s best kept secret… and cheapest too.<\/p>\n

We unfortunately did not find any treasures to take home because everything in there was massive. Dan thought this description was funny.<\/p>\n

We also got a second recommendation today from another Airstreaming friend<\/a> much to the girls’ delight. It’s called Back in the Day Bakery. Since the girls didn’t break anything in the cathedral or in the antique store, they get a special treat today.<\/p>\n

“Hey Kyle, look what we have. Don’t be to sad!”<\/p>\n

“Don’t you little ladies worry. I am NOT sad.”<\/p>\n

While at the bakery, Luka started to do this. It’s his new and improved way of smiling. Haha.<\/p>\n

Back at the campground, we enjoyed one last night under the tall trees of Skidaway Island and said hello to Jupiter, who is the bright white speck next to the moon, around 1 o’clock.<\/p>\n
