You wouldn&#8217;t know it by the size of their facilities in town. Just the campground alone can accommodate the entire town&#8217;s population. Each vendor has to setup its own table and its own awnings. Here at the Shipshewana Flea Market, the vendors have their own permanent spaces to display their items.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana. by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/8049269127\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8321\/8049269127_efa3747e09.jpg\" alt=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana.\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a barn next to the flea market field, antiques were being loaded from truck beds and trailers into designated spaces on the floor of the building. This is actually where all the gems are found. Unfortunately, we are here a day early. She sees a\u00a0\u00a0nautical-themed room in our house with Luka&#8217;s name on it. They opted for for a giant bag of kettle corn instead.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana. by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/8049277734\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8318\/8049277734_b789b3345f.jpg\" alt=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana.\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That is until Ava saw this contraption. It is a 100 year old International Harvest gasoline engine powering a couple of ice cream makers. The\u00a0rhythmic clinky-clank of the old motor running\u00a0to power the churn handles on the wooden, ice-filled buckets full of cream and sugar was mesmerizing.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana. by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/8049278890\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8318\/8049278890_a5536affd3.jpg\" alt=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana.\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can spend your entire visit on the flea market fairgrounds and never have to leave if you so desired. Besides the RV park and the market, there is also a home-style restaurant next to the auction barn. As you would expect, the food is great and very reasonably priced.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana. by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/8049279512\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8313\/8049279512_f9ef0d5db1.jpg\" alt=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana.\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At most of the stores, there are parking lots and accompanying hitching posts for the locals who prefer a more traditional mode of transportation. Because of the tourists that come each week for the flea market, now you can also take a tour of the town in an authentic Amish horse and buggy. We were not able to get on a tour for a couple of hours and we had plan to leave town before that so we regrettably decided against taking the tour.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana. by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/8049279982\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8314\/8049279982_c671112110.jpg\" alt=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana.\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not all buggies are of the &#8216;traditional&#8217; style. When it comes to horses, her knowledge of them is admittedly foreign. This little guy in a fenced in field next to the RV park was very gentle and friendly.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana. by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/8049297181\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8030\/8049297181_1de6508ed9.jpg\" alt=\"Day 61: The Shipshewana Flea Market in Indiana.\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We checked out of the RV Park shortly before 5:30PM and headed north towards Michigan.
