Our gracious hosts, Tiffany and Sean, extended their offer for us to courtesy park for as long as we wanted to stay. But before we wore out our welcome, we decided to try our luck with Clear Creek in Golden again. This time, we were able to lock in an electric-only site for the next few days.<\/p>\n

The girls had a great time hanging out with Tiffany and she offered to watch them for awhile if we needed to do any shopping around town. It was a really tempting offer, but I think if we did leave them here, they may never want to come back with us.<\/p>\n

We are hoping to see them again down the road when we are both in Carolinas in a few months. We picked their brain for awhile on the parts of the country we are headed to and got some good tips on things to do and places to go when we get there.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

We hitched up and got back on the road heading briefly west towards Golden. We have been in the Denver area for over a week now. We are starting to get pretty familiar with the area. As we pulled into Golden, it is almost like coming home after a long trip.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Our spot at the campground once again backs up to a small lake.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

The girls were excited to see a flock of Canada geese hanging out here. These guys must be locals here because they weren’t scared by humans at all.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

The girls got busy picking up crab apples that have fallen on the ground all around to feed the geese.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

It started out with just a couple of them but by the end, we had over 20 geese hanging out behind our trailer looking for food. Check out the video embedded below to see just how many of them showed up for the feast.<\/p>\n

Since today is Monday, I am also having to get back and start doing some work. We got the package from the post office that we have been expecting and it was actually a new cellular modem that I ordered to upgrade our old Merlin EX720 that has been crapping out on me. Time will tell if this new modem is any better.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Yoda is lusting over the sight of these birds outside her window.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Around the campground at Clear Creek, there are a few apple trees that we are free to pick from. Our 18 lbs loot from the orchards of Capitol Reef National Park<\/a>\u00a0is now long gone.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

The trees here have been picked pretty bare but Ava was able to find a couple that were decent sized.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Monday also means Ava is back in school with teacher mamma.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

She wrote her first story today by herself about two turtles name Laura and Laurie who became friends through the love of princess crowns.<\/p>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

She can’t get enough of her kindergarten activities on school days. Two hours later, she was still going strong long after Yoda has given up scheming up a way to get the Canada geese.<\/p>\n
