We took 2 truck loads of boxes and miscellaneous stuff to storage but our house still pretty much looks like this:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"IMAG0944 by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/7154705665\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7099\/7154705665_0e584ef575.jpg\" alt=\"IMAG0944\" width=\"500\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There is something humbling about life that you never quite get use to. Regardless how hectic things might be for you, everything else just moves on. There are no time-outs to be called and there are no do-overs. We have a giant list of to-dos to accomplish before pulling anchor and pushing away from the docks. It seems the second you check a couple of them off, a few more magically appear.<\/p>\n<p>We just came home from a weekend in San Diego for a wedding where Marlene was the Matron of Honor and Ava was the Flower Girl. It was a great weekend but definitely one that we are glad is behind us. This has been months in the making for her, the bride and many others in the wedding party. And now she doesn&#8217;t have to stress about planning a shower or making a speech, we can both focus on the list.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"458075_10151183606199899_369142650_o by mali mish, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/danlin\/7341636232\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8010\/7341636232_4bc6697314.jpg\" alt=\"458075_10151183606199899_369142650_o\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Right now, we are mainly dealing with the closing of both escrows on the old and new house. If we were just simply moving from one house to another, it would have made things a lot easier. But of course that is not the case for us. We are looking for extra space in relatives homes to store our stuff so we can skip the mini storage scene. We are trying to sort out and slim down our possessions so we can take exactly what we need with us on the trip while not keeping anything in storage that we don&#8217;t need when we come home. All the meanwhile, I have to find time to work so my clients don&#8217;t leave me when I will most need them to stick around. Like I said, no time-outs.<\/p>\n<p>I am looking forward to when all of these things are finally done and I am once again quietly blogging from the Airstream in the middle of the night when all of the kids have gone to bed. That is when I will be able to take a deep breath and enjoy what is coming our way. I hope you are, too.
