If rarity is your thing, this 1946 Curtis Wright trailer should be right up your alley. Some had said that there are only 7 of these babies left in existence as this trailer was only made for one year by Curtis Wright Travel Trailers. I have not seen the other 6 but I am pretty sure it can’t look prettier than this one.<\/p>\n

Curtis Wright trailers are special because there is a significance in their association with Airstreams. After World War II, Curtis Wright moved to Los Angeles and hired Wally Byam to work in his new manufacturing plant to build travel trailers. Their partnership was short lived and after they parted ways, Wally began building trailers under his own brand famously named as Airstreams and Curtis eventually became Silver Streak trailers.<\/p>\n

This Curtis Wright was meticulously rebuilt with the original design as more of an inspiration.<\/p>\n

Much of the original 1940s look and feel was kept with obviously new wooden cabinets and panels built to be a close approximation of the original.<\/p>\n

Although not a 100% faithful refurb, it definitely takes you back in time when you are standing in this beautiful mid-century trailer.<\/p>\n

Who’s in for a quick game of cribbage? Or maybe watch me shoot the moon in hearts?<\/p>\n

The sink, counter top and stove are all brand new and would make this trailer a great weekender.<\/p>\n

I bet that twill upholstery on the convertible bed isn’t too bad to sleep on either. I wonder if the owners will mind if I borrowed her for a few days….<\/p>\n
