On the first night, we tried to cross into Germany but got turned away because the border we chose was for Germans only.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49730036773\" alt=\"Driving across Europe for isolation\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49730036773_20540576e0_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The border guard told us we&#8217;d have to try a northern border but it was already dark so we decided to wild camp in France for the night and deal with borders in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49730548211\" alt=\"Driving across Europe for isolation\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49730548211_6c1fa3328a_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The recommended border was not open and only allowed a certain number of vehicles to pass which looks like they already exceeded for the day&#8230; so we continued north to try another border crossing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49730547511\" alt=\"Driving across Europe for isolation\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49730547511_4de286d093_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Three times was a charm! Now in Germany, we stopped by a Lidl to stock on food. Once we get to Croatia, we will NOT be allowed to leave our home for 14 days.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49730003493\" alt=\"Driving across Europe for isolation\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49730003493_820736bd25_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Peppa ice cream was surprisingly delicious.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49730037683\" alt=\"Driving across Europe for isolation\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49730037683_09a6311fce_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the second night, we slept at a gas station just shy of the German-Austrian border. Between then and now, we\u2019ve driven 2,000 miles, talked to the Croatian embassy daily, camped in an isolation camp, left one continent for another, boarded an evacuation ferry for France, crossed 5 borders and used a ton of hand sanitizer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Now we are settled in my parents\u2019 apartment for a mandatory 14-day quarantine. No stepping outside until then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Thanks again for the love and support, friends.
