After a couple days in Meteora, we headed for the beaches of the Aegean Sea. We chose to stop at Skotina Beach for a free beachfront spot. The small town felt very deserted and beaches unkempt but it was free and a beach so we decided to stay.<\/p>\n

\"Our<\/a><\/p>\n

This is our first peek at the Aegean Sea. Not only were we greeted with pink sunset skies but a stray dog we named Flan. Guess what Mila was eating when she named him? Haha.<\/p>\n

\"I<\/a><\/p>\n

We may not be able to chase flip flop weather during our European adventure but I\u2019m really enjoying the low season right now. No one here but us and a few strays.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"We<\/a><\/p>\n

We fed Flan some dinner that night and guess where he slept for a portion of the night? Yup, under our van. The other portion of the night he spent barking at anything that came too close to us. In the morning, we woke up and called for him. He jumped out of some tall grass and came right over.<\/p>\n

Thanks for “protecting” us all night, buddy.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

No problem, humans.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

He had the longest legs and chunks of fur that needed to be brushed out on his hind legs. The clumps of white fur reminded me of how our husky used to shed.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

Breakfast time for our new friend.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

All morning, Flan was literally snuggling with us as we hung out at the beach.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

This is the closest I’ve come to rescuing a dog. This huge snuggle bug dog pulled on all my heart strings.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

This is just the start of of our two month adventure in Greece but by the time we are done here, we would have made two more stops in Skotina just to visit Flan. We came to look for signs if this was the dog to join our family. (Sadly, the signs said no. On our second visit, we found him again but was not interested in us anymore. And during our third visit, there was no signs of him or any dog in town.)<\/p>\n

\"Please<\/a><\/p>\n

Our next stop was to the city of Thessaloniki. We chose to stay at Zampetas Caravan Shop and Services<\/a>. He offers free overnight parking with electricity, water, dump, wifi, Turkish toilet and cold shower. The weather was getting cold fast at the end of February so having electricity to run our space heater was real nice.<\/p>\n

Cleaning out the dust of our Fantastic fans while the kids work on some art.<\/p>\n

This is the table we use in the van when we are set up for a few days and have our captain chairs swiveled. Otherwise, it is stored in the back of the van.<\/p>\n

Well, this was unexpected. We woke up to snow… at SEA LEVEL! What in the world?!<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

Dressed and making snowballs first thing in the morning.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

SO happy.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

Enough snow for a little snowman.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

And a few hours later.<\/p>\n

Warming up their cold feet and hands on our portable electric heater.<\/p>\n

\"From<\/p>\n

And yes, it’s balancing on our portable toilet. Ha.<\/p>\n
