We caught up on some work, spent time with family and harvested the family olive trees. With Halloween behind us and olives pressed into oil, we are off to do some exploring in Croatia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034831486\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034831486_dfdb6285cb_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>We&#8217;ve spent a lot of time here but most of it has been concentrated in southern Dalmatian coast. For the next couple weeks, we&#8217;re gonna check out what the northern part of the country has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034901291\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034901291_7fa0aaa376_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Village life has been pajama life. Time to put on some real pants and say hello to the rest of Croatia.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034901051\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034901051_616299e065_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kids working on school in the morning before we pack up the van.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49035172847\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49035172847_8f9276bf19_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All packed up and ready to go. Usually Rio the village dog would be by our side but not today unfortunately. He must be out with his family picking olives.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034353918\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034353918_cff853334b_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the past month, the kids have been sleeping in the village house with my parents. Time to re-introduce them to vanlife again.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034352878\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034352878_0f9685b9b2_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The main road on the island of Hvar. Full of olive trees, lavender and rock walls.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034844921\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034844921_a3152b3291_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Took the shorter (and much cheaper) ferry off of the island to mainland.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034950521\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034950521_ff5bd39141_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It costs us about $35 for our family of five and van from Su\u0107uraj to Drvenik.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49035073592\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49035073592_78f86511a2_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hello, mainland!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034903931\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034903931_4bd3f93a2b_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>We had every intention on leaving the island early but then remembered that we aren\u2019t in a hurry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034408643\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034408643_3db6db7f26_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>So we said yes to a homemade meal. We said yes to smashing rotting pumpkins. We said yes to petting a village cat for a few more minutes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49035130657\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49035130657_7d732ab3eb_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>And our reward for all those yeses was golden hour on one of favorite stretches of road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"49034349043\" alt=\"Leaving Hvar for Split blog 110719\" src=\"https:\/\/farm66.static.flickr.com\/65535\/49034349043_a71ff5a355_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And the sunset did this magical thing. Not only was the sky on fire, but the sea too!
