Sorry to have worried some of you.

I know we haven’t been blogging for the last few days and some of you have worried about us. I just wanted to let you guys know that we are safe and sound. We spent just short of a week in Oklahoma with some old friends up at a beautiful lake for Memorial day weekend without Internet. It was both liberating and confining at the same time to be offline for so long. Being in the middle of tornado and hail season, we spent a couple of long traveling days getting out of there and have now made it to New Mexico. We will try to catch up on our posts to let you guys know about some of the great places we visited along America’s Bible Belt.

By the way, check out this video of a hail storm hitting Oklahoma City on May 16th 2010. If we got there a week earlier we would have been right in it. Make sure you watch until 0:53 when it really gets crazy.

I watched the video of the hail storm. Pretty amazing. I wonder what kind of payout the auto insurance companies have to deal with! Major damage.

I saw a truck while we were there that had baseball size dings across the entire body. My friend told me that the mobile ding repair companies there are so good at ding removal that it will be unnoticeable once the job is done.

The major damage that insurance companies have to worry about in hails like this is actually roofs, gutters, windows and doors on the houses. Roofing companies that specialize in storm chasing in these areas are a big business!
